2016 Wine Descriptions
Wines for Tasting Aboard Cruise
Ca'Momi Rosso di Napa
proprietary 100% Napa Valley red blend
Aromas of ripe blueberries, subtle campfire smoke, and that blackberry patch down the road put summer vacation in your glass. Intense plum, blackberry pie, and toasty spice mingle on the palate, with moderate tannins providing structure and character through the lingering finish.
A velvety texture, and full-mouth feel. Its round, medium bodied and complex palate is loaded with fruit -- an extroverted dry red wine that is light in body but deceptively rich in flavor. Powerfully engaging and balanced with good acidity on the long finish. This is a satisfying blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot and Petite Sirah that can be enjoyed everyday.
Auspicion Chardonnay
Auspicion Chardonnay shows great fruit character, finesse, and fullness in the palate. Flavors of ripe pineapple, golden apple, and Anjou pear are balanced by citrus notes and a smooth, creamy finish. Vinified in stainless steel, the wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation before bottling, adding a touch of creaminess. A crisp, light-bodied wine meant to be enjoyed on its own or with light-fare.
An ancient practice holds hat we can predict the future by reading the movements of birds. Maybe. But why not get carried away and make a bit of your own good fortune! One sip of this crisp, fresh, and fruit-forward Auspicion Chardonnay and your future will instantly look brighter!
Kokomo Pinot Noir
This high end of the spectrum Pinot Noir truly embodies the 2013 growing season. The cool foggy mornings and warm afternoons, coupled with long hang time, allowed for perfectly balanced tannins and a consistently classy finish. The aromatics of cherry cola, exotic spices, ripe plum and a hint of rose petals gives this wine the power of elegance and complexity. The wine is drinking beautifully now, but will age gracefully over the years.
Waterstone Cabernet Sauvignon
Aromas of cedary oak, currants, black cherries and ripe plums are rich and concentrated on the palate. The firm tannins underlying the wine’s core provide balance, leading to a long, lingering finish.
Enjoy!
